Food Mission, Kenya, Africa

 

After clean water, our next priority is food for International Missions.  We buy bags of food from Midwest Food Bank, who has locations in U.S. including Dallas, TX area and in East Africa.  The bags contain a rice and bean mixture and extra nutrients are added depending on the needs of each people groups.  We send food to Restoration Church in Kisumu, Kenya,  Africa, Pastor Stephen Odowuor.  Pastor Stephen and his church work with orphans and street kids.

Stats

The world produces enough food to feed all 7.5 billion people.  Despite this, 1 in 9 people around the world go hungry each day.  11.3% of the world’s population is hungry. That’s roughly 805 million people who go undernourished on a daily basis, consuming less than the recommended 2,100 calories a day.
